Casascius put out a warning that their website has been copies by a fraudulent party that is attempting to defraud those attempting to buy Casascius physical bitcoins.

The only correct website for purchasing the Casascius physical bitcoins is https://www.Casascius.com  The fraudulent knockoff has the same name with the .net top level domain (TLD).

This will only impact those who have sent funds to the address provided by the fraudulent site.  The official Casascius site was not affected by this.  Previous, present and future buyers of Casascius physical bitcoins are given the assurance from Casascius they there are no records kept of the private keys encoded underneath the hologram thus even if the operator’s systems were compromised or confiscated the value on the coins can only be spent by the physical holder of the coins.      

While bitcoin was intended to be an online digital currency, offline varieties beginning with BitBills, followed by the Casascius physical bitcoin and also a paper wallet like available from BitAddress.org makes bitcoin usable in additional scenarios.
